This is the CNC-machined billet head flange from our OM606 turbo manifold kit, sold separately for anyone fabricating their own manifold or replacing a damaged one. Designed in-house, machined from solid billet stainless steel \u2014 not a cast manifold, where casting is a compromise between quality, performance, and price rather than a deliberate engineering choice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Where Cheap Parts Cost You Later<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\">On a high-output build, the exhaust side isn&#8217;t a place to cut corners. A poor transition between the head&#8217;s low, wide ports and round tubing restricts flow right where it matters most \u2014 the pressure pulse driving the turbine loses energy before it&#8217;s even left the head, so the turbo spools slower and the head runs hotter under load. On a big-power OM606, that heat and restriction compound: more fuel, more exhaust volume, more time spent under sustained boost. A properly engineered transition doesn&#8217;t just make more power \u2014 it&#8217;s what keeps the head out of trouble over the life of the build, instead of becoming the thing that fails once everything else has been done right.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Why It&#8217;s 25mm Thick<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\">The OM606&#8217;s exhaust ports are low and wide, same as the rest of this platform. The OM606 is the longest of the three, a 6-cylinder head, and this flange is machined specifically to its length and port count.
